Prerequisite:
Long-range experience is not required for this course as it is intended for beginners, however, experience with your rifle and optic is mandatory.
It’s essential that shooters considering this course are already proficient at 100 yards.

- Advanced Marksmanship Fundamentals
- Wind Reading
- Bullet Flight Characteristics (drift and trajectory)
- Using a Chronograph
- Making a D.O.P.E Log
- Understanding Scope Reticles and MOA
- Selecting and Troubleshooting Equipment
- Using Ballistic Calculations Software
5 Hour Range Session:

What to Bring:
You should plan to bring the following to the class:
- Centerfire rifle (.223/5.56 caliber at minimum [75gr minimum bullet weight for .223/5.56], .50 BMG is allowed).
- High magnification riflescope (at least 10×) along with its owner’s manual (store it to your smartphone).
- 150 rounds (250 rounds recommended) of match ammo that can hold a group of at least 1.5″ at 100 yards. Ammo must all be the same make and loading – handloads are welcomed.
- NO TRACERS or INCENDIARY AMMUNITION
- Bipod or rest that is at least 9″ tall
- Rear bag or sand sock (sock filled with rice about the size of a softball will do)
- Bagged lunch
- Bottled water
- Snacks
- Chair
Additionally, the following aren’t mandatory but will be useful:
- Smartphone (we will recommend ballistic software)
- Spotting scope or binoculars (at least 20x)
- Backup rifle and/or scope
